Job Summary:

In addition to having strong teaching skills and an active scholarly agenda, the successful candidate will teach courses focusing on American politics and public policy and be able to contribute to departmental efforts to increase civic engagement.

The person selected for this position will be a visible and engaged faculty member in our department, the university, and the community. The successful candidate will have experience or demonstrable interest in working closely with students in research and advising.

Scope:

The Department of History, Politics, and Justice at Ohio Northern University in Ada, Ohio, seeks a dynamic tenure-track Assistant Professor of Political Science with a major field in American Politics to begin in Fall 2018. The ability to teach courses in public policy is strongly desired.

Principal Responsibilities:

Teach courses in American politics and public policy, mentor undergraduate students and maintain an active research agenda.

Required Skills:

Excellent teaching, ability to mentor student research, ability to maintain a productive research agenda.

Minimum Qualifications:

ABD in Political Science, Public Policy, or related field

Preferred Qualifications:

Ph.D. and college teaching experience.
