Job Summary:

The Successful candidate will teach Manufacturing courses designated from the following: Materials Science, Materials, and Processes, Product Manufacturing, Advanced Robotics, Manufacturing Simulation, Product Design, Digital Manufacturing. Other teaching responsibilities may include general core courses taught in the Technological Studies program including Freshman general education transitions course and Technology Education.

Required Skills:

Position requires a high level of technical expertise and teaching and/or industrial experience manufacturing management applications and processes, materials science testing, industry simulations and machine processes. Demonstrated teaching excellence in the classroom, a record of professional involvement, and work with student and/or civic groups are highly valued.

Minimum Qualifications:

A PhD is preferred, ABD considered, in engineering technologies, manufacturing engineering, electrical engineering, industrial engineering, industrial technology, technology education, or related field with teaching and/or industrial experience involving robotics, manufacturing processes, ergonomics, and manufacturing management. Priority to be given to those possessing strong communication skills, evidence of the potential to be an excellent teacher, commitment to experiential and service learning, and understanding of assessment and accreditation.

Preferred Qualifications:

The preferred candidate will provide leadership to the manufacturing major by assisting manufacturing students in academic advising, student chapter advisor for SME or ATMAE, and promote the ONU manufacturing program to industrial companies across the mid-west and pursue professional & scholarly activities within and outside the university.

College Description:

The Department of Technological Studies is positioned in the College of Arts and Sciences and has three ATMAE accredited programs. The Department has five full-time faculty serving approximately 100 majors in Construction Management, Manufacturing Technology, and Technology Education.
