Job Summary:

The Director of International Admissions is responsible for leading the International Admissions Office in its efforts to recruit and retain international students. Several of the chief tasks include reviewing student applications, responding to inquiries, planning recruiting trips, developing strategic plans, managing scholarships, arranging campus tours, developing contracts, and supervising staff and student workers.

Scope:

Serve as the Director of International Admissions and oversee efforts to recruit and retain international students

Principal Responsibilities:

Review student applications throughout various stages of the application process. Evaluate academic credentials. Respond to inquiries via phone and email. Plan recruiting trips. Conduct follow-up procedures on recruiting trips through corresponding with internal and external contacts, writing corresponding reports, and performing billing responsibilities accordingly. Coordinate and develop marketing efforts for recruiting, including social media management in collaboration with Communications and Marketing. Supervise the daily functions of International Admissions and ensure students’ needs are met. Develop strategic plans and proposals for student recruitment, enrollment and retention. Manage international scholarship efforts including developing and updating awards and creating promotional pieces. Develop contracts and agreements for special projects. Oversee substantial projects impacting the long range future of the University. Create and/or approve policies, procedures and precedents and solve intricate problems in light of the impact the solution may have on the entire organization. Regularly communicate with persons of importance, obtain the cooperation of others, and handle delicate relationships and complex situations. Develop and maintain ongoing relationships involving difficult and formal negotiations. Supervise staff and student workers. Perform management responsibilities on the annual department budget. Serve as a liaison between international entities and various offices on campus.

Required Skills:

Advanced knowledge of professional theories and practices within international recruitment and a working knowledge of related fields. Exemplary ability to network with other individuals. Experience with evaluation of academic credentials.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree. Three to five years of similar work experience. A valid passport and ability to travel overseas.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s Degree. Five or more years of similar work experience
